Here we are in Alice Springs, the centre of Australia and a place that Lynette loved. Lynette Beattie finished her time here on earth last week after a lengthy battle with cancer. She fought with such grace and shared her journey through her blog. Her deep faith, intimate relationship with and love for God mixed with her passion for travel, creation and people will always remain an inspiration to me. She even fitted in very well with two thirds of the McPherson family in her love for bare feet :-).
In the last few weeks I’d sent Lynette some photos on and off and it delighted me that she wrote back saying that while she was close to bed ridden she is now thinking of the red earth and white gums. “The Todd Regatta was not to be missed!” said Lynette, so miss it we did not!! My parents have been planning on meeting us in Alice for a while and it was wonderful for us all that their arrival was the day before the regatta. We all had fun and found many of the events quite amusing….
Our thoughts, prayers and love go out to Barry, Lynette’s dear husband. He like Lynette is also an inspiration – a man of great character and strength.
Nature brought Lynette such delight therefore these photos from Alice Springs are in her memory.
A truly beautiful tribute. Harold.
Perfect, Chris! Lorna xx
