Sunsetting, moon rising – welcoming us to new adventures…

After over 12 months of experiencing Western Australia we say farewell. It was a strange feeling to cross the boarder. We were all fairly quiet thinking about all the happenings of Western Australia and those were many and emotive. It was a mix of relief to move on and sadness leaving friendships we’ve forged. The mood was lightened as I gasped loudly and all wondered what I was on about …. “We’ve now been to EVERY state/territory in Australia!” YAY – now that’s exciting and something to celebrate :-).

We began the Northern Territory with a stop at the Zebra Rock Mine just over the boarder. We turned our clocks forward 1 1/2 hours making it now 7:00pm to find a spot and set up camp. This place was fun! We fossicked successfully for zebra rock, played with a pet lizard, a HUGE python and met a lovely family from Minnesota, USA who are travelling around Australia WWOOFIng at places too. We shared a dinner together of Silver Cobbler (caught by our friend, Matt), sushi, and potato fitters. On a side note, it was great to see them again at the Mindel Markets in Darwin!

Moving on we travelled onwards towards Katherine, passing the Victoria River and seeing quite a few things of interest along the way (photos below)…. plus managed 130km/h on the highway!
