Pilbara Rainbow

Wow …. today brings another amazing rainbow.  Once again at a very timely moment for me.  I’ll save the personal meaning behind this one for perhaps another time but I just wanted to share this beautiful moment.

We’re currently working in the Pilbara area on a cattle station.  Stephen is thriving in the busyness of getting all the vehicles ready for muster and myself in the baking of cakes, slices, breads and all things yummy for the communal morning teas.

Arriving a few weeks back the creeks and rivers were empty even though it had rained that day which made our journey in a rather muddy one.  Within a week of arriving more rain came and we were totally flooded in for a whole week!  Once again it rains today – but thankfully only a little.  All this rain seems to be unusual for this time of year but it is nice to see the smile on the station owners face after he surveyed his land while taking Stephen with him in the helicopter.

The landscape is stunning in the Pilbara.  Red earth contrasting with the greenery is beautiful and it is generally backed dropped by a vibrant cloud free blue sky.  The evening pink glows are always breathtaking and I look forward to exploring this area more as I find every corner seems to offer something new.

Hi Mac’s! Again Chris you have excelled yourself with wonderful pics of the magnificent Pilbara. Well done Steve with the aerial shots! Life on a cattle station must be pretty full on. Had some serious rain here too recently as you’ve probably heard, but last few days brighter & sunny, with chilly nights (big logs on the fire!)
Fantastic to have our Nessie home & doing so well – GOD IS GOOD!
Love & blessings to you all,
Lorna xxx
PS Me & our 2 granddaughters just love rainbows!!
